Erin Sweeney, LCMT, NCBMT
Erin Sweeney has been offering therapeutic massage and bodywork since 2000. A graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute, where she also taught Muscular Therapy Technique and Sports Massage for five years, Erin has worked in a variety of settings to gain experience and develop her skill. In October, 2004, she realized her goal of having her own practice and opened BodyWise Therapeutic Massage. Since that time, her vision has led her to create a serene and truly relaxing space for her clients to decrease emotional and physical stress and become wise about their bodies Erin enjoys working with people of all ages to help restore balance and wellness, while increasing body awareness. Her training includes prenatal and postpartum massage, injury assessment and treatment, myofascial and neuromuscular therapy, sports massage and stretching techniques. In addition, she is an ALACE trained professional doula, serving to support and empower women through labor and childbirth. Erin’s work is focused on helping people relieve muscular tension, recover from and prevent injury, and develop their own self-care. She offers individualized relaxation, deep tissue, prenatal, or sports massage sessions based on clients’ specific needs. During the past six years, she has also worked with a variety of professional athletes, including the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Cirque du Soleil, members of the U.S. Women’s Professional Soccer League, and various elite performers of the Tufts 10k and Boston Marathon; although her favorite athletes are women in labor! She also offers free consultations for couples interested in having a doula at their childbirth. close window |
